PRODUCTION WOOD TECHNOLOGY 1

Prerequisite: Wood Technology or Instructor's permission

 

This is an advanced theory and practice course that deals with the operating principles, safety, special set-ups, adjustments and maintenance of woodworking machines. Learning experiences will occur through the individual construction of woodworking projects. Special attention will be given to the characteristics of common commercial woods used in the woodworking industry.

PRODUCTION WOOD TECHNOLOGY 2

Year - 1.0 credit

Senior

Prerequisite: Wood Technology and Production Wood Technology I

 

Students will be required to design, calculate and construct furniture and cabinets. Advanced methods of woodworking machinery operation will be emphasized. Each student will also be utilized throughout the year in cooperation with school personnel on maintenance operations. Students will deal with machine mass production.
